- You need 6 credits in total, beginning with Basic English I, Basic English II and Advanced English.

- Way to apply: you need to prepare the original and a duplicate of the official transcript and visit the Center to fill out form on the first week of the semester.
Questions about Graduation Threshold for English Proficiency
- Which departments have English graduation threshold?
- The English graduation threshold is only applicable to the students of four-year daytime program, excluding the students who hold Special Education Student Evaluation Certificate issued by the Ministry of Education or those who participate in the Dual System of Vocational Training Project guided by the Ministry of Labor, and international students who have passed the Chinese Proficiency test certified by the Center.
- Advanced threshold: Applicable for students from Department of Applied Foreign Languages.

- Do I need to apply for passing the graduation threshold for English proficiency?
- Yes, students should pass the threshold approved by the school before graduation, and thus are eligible for application.
- Is there any time limit for applying for passing the graduation threshold for English proficiency?
- The application process should be finished before the students graduate and leave the school. Deadline for submitting the documents are on the Center webpage, please check => English Threshold
- How can I check the result for my application for passing English threhosld?
- The review time will be about one week after you submit all the paper documents to the Center. You will get result notice from the website of the school system and an email confirmation as well.

- What if I fail to pass the requirement for English proficiency test?
- If you cannot pass the English proficiency test approved by the school at the end of the third year, you can present the transcripts which you failed twice in the past to apply for the English Proficient Development – English Remedial Course. The course is zero credit, and offered to the seniors at fall and spring semester. You can go to the Center webpage and check=>English Threshold=>Apply for English Remedial Course.
- Do I have to submit the application for passing English threshold once I pass the requirements for the Remedial Course?
- No, you don’t have to submit anything. Once you pass the remedial course, the webpage system will renew your status as passing the remedial course.
- If I pass the English Proficient Development – English Remedial Course, will I be considered passing the English threshold?
- If you have earned all the required credits stipulated by the school and only haven’t passed the English threshold, you can apply for graduation with the successfully-completed remedial course. However, if you still haven’t earned all the credits for graduation, the remedial course won’t count.
- Can I use the passing record of my remedial course to substitute the score of English proficiency test in the courses of Basic English and Advanced English?
- No, the score of English proficiency test as part of the course total scores only recognize the score in the English proficiency test or the score on passing the English threshold. The English Proficient Development – English Remedial Course only works after you have earned all of credits for English courses.
- Do I need to apply for anything after I take the English Proficient Development – English Remedial Course and pass the English threshold?
- Yes, you need to apply for the passing English threshold. Please check the Center Webpage =>English Threshold=>Apply for passing English threshold.
- Can I withdraw from the English Proficient Development – English Remedial Course if I pass the English threshold?
- Please check the deadline for withdrawing courses on the Office of Academic Affairs webpage Students can choose by themselves whether they would like to withdraw the remedial course or not. If the student choose to do so, the transcript will still show the name of the course and the grade will be “withdraw.“ Please note, if you have record of withdrawing courses, you are not allowed to take more courses than required for next semester.

- How can I sign up and check sections for English proficiency tests on campus?

- How can I check my score for English proficiency test on campus?
- Please go to the Academic Affairs System => Information for Academic affairs =>Entry to system => English Proficiency Test System
- How long will it take to know the result of my English proficiency test?
- Currently, the needed time for results of English proficiency tests conducted on campus will be as follows:
- CSEPT: result on line is about four weeks while paper document six weeks.
- TOEIC: result on line is about four weeks while paper document six weeks.
- BULATS: test results come out after finishing the online tests. Students can check results online one week later, and the official score report will be available about two weeks later.
- Where will be the transcript of the English proficiency test taken on campus sent to?
- For those who take test on campus, the transcript will be sent to International Teaching and Language Center. Please pay attention to the message released on the Center webpage and present your ID to get it back.
Questions about Midterm & Final Exam
- What should I prepare for the midterm and final exam?
- You need to have your student’s ID card or ID card issued by the government ready for the verification, and mark the answers with 2B pencils.
- How can I apply for leave during the exam period?
- During the exam period, you should print out the paper application for absence regardless of the leave categories or duration you would like to request, and bring the paper document with you to visit the Center to make an appointment for finishing the make-up exam. If you miss the deadline for the make-up exam, your score will NOT be considered for grading.
- How can I check the result of my midterm and final exams?
- The result will be sent to the teacher responsible for teaching the class on Thursday on the exam week. You can bring your student’s ID to visit the Center before 16:00 on Friday on the exam week, or ask your teacher.
